I Squared Capital acquires Clean Energy Fuels Australia

Global infrastructure fund I Squared Capital (ISQ) has acquired Perth-based Clean Energy Fuels Australia (CEFA) and is backing the team to develop an Energy Transition Platform focused on reducing the carbon footprint of energy intensive industries in Australia.

The Energy Transition Platform will initially focus on WA, developing CEFA’s LNG hub in WA’s Mid-West region, and a second planned hub for the Pilbara region. In parallel the Energy Transition Platform is preparing to offer other innovative energy solutions including LNG for mining vehicles and re-deployable solar solutions. The platform is expected to invest up to $500 million on assets providing low carbon and renewable solutions.
